Hidroweb 2.0.1

The HidroWeb mobile application serves as an integral component of the National System of Information on Water Resources (SNIRH) and provides access, in this initial version, to telemetric data collected by the National Hydrometeorological Network (RHN). This application consolidates data regarding water levels and flow rates of rivers, as well as precipitation across the entire country. It represents a significant resource for both society and public/private institutions, as the data gathered from hydrometeorological stations are essential for effective management of water resources and for various economic activities, including energy generation, irrigation, navigation, and industry. Furthermore, it supports the design, maintenance, and operation of hydraulic infrastructure of varying scales, such as dams, urban drainage systems, and even culverts and rooftops.

With this information, users can monitor critical hydrological events such as floods and droughts and strategize mitigation measures to counteract their impacts. Beyond mere observation, the extensive dataset compiled by the RHN enables simulation and forecasting of hydrological events and their effects on both urban and rural areas across diverse river basins.

The data made available through the HidroWeb mobile application is collected at Data Collection Platforms (PCDs), which are operated and maintained in the field by hydrology technicians and hydrologists from partner entities or contractors employed by the National Water Agency (ANA). The ANA oversees the planning, standardization of procedures and equipment, regulation, organization of hydrometeorological data, and its publication. Currently, the operation of the RHN is managed by several organizations including the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM), Santa Catarina Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Company (EPAGRI/SC), the Department of Water and Electric Energy of São Paulo (DAEE/SP), the Mining Institute for Water Management (IGAM/MG), the Paraná Water Institute (AGUASPARANÁ), as well as contracted firms COHIDRO, CONSTRUFAM, and UFC.
